Frequently Asked Questions

What happens on my first visit?

On your first visit the osteopath will take a detailed case history from you. It is important that the osteopath gets a clear and full picture of what you and your body has experienced even over many years, so you might be asked questions that may seem irrelevant to your present condition.

The osteopath will then examine you and evaluate your problem, looking at your posture and movements and feeling the quality and tone of your tissues. The examination may require you to undress to your underwear. The osteopath will then give you a diagnosis of your problem and explain a treatment plan for you. Treatment is mainly carried out using manual techniques such as soft tissue massage, stretching tissues, articulating and manipulating joints. These are usually backed up with exercises and advice on posture and lifestyle where appropriate.

Osteopathy is suitable for patients of all ages from new born babies to grandparents as treatment is tailored to suit the needs of the individual.

Celia Frank is a professional in the truest sense of the word. She is thorough and understanding and I have had great success with my treatment. I would be the first to recommend her to anyone with a damaged joint or muscle problem.

I am currently undergoing treatment from Celia Frank and find her to be very professional, kind and understanding. She has given clear and practical advice which has proved to be very beneficial. I cannot believe I waited so long to seek her advice and treatment. I did not realise how tired I had become of the constant ache in my back and leg until it was treated and it subsided. I now have more energy am less tired and I can now increase my exercise levels to become healthier.

How long have you been looking for a Osteopath that actually makes you feel better, I am sure not as long as I have. When I came to Celia for first time it was because I have had a headache for more than 3 month, due to my bad back by the afternoon after seeing Celia, it was gone, and when the pain is back I have some exercises to do and off it goes, no headache. So now I am having treatment for my back, it is so good that I have been able to go back to the gym. Celia is not just a Osteopath, she is a really nice person too. Come and see Celia she is the best. Mabel
